Arnette, the 5 pound toy poodle, was found starving and covered in mud and ticks in the country - a little mud covered coyote snack. Our family was not looking for a dog at the time (and neither were the coyotes), but a friend persuaded me to take her "for a night." That was all it took. Arnette has been a member of our family ever since.

The process to become a therapy dog has been cathartic for me. Getting Arnette through the program has not been an easy feat. We have consistently worked hard every day and every night. I am proud of myself for sticking with it and doing the hard work with Arnette for the divine canines program!

Arnette and I are going to participate in the Barking Book Buddies program. We'll be able to give to kids in school what I never had when I was in school...someone who cares about the individual.
