Success is measured by the quality of life experience.

The mission of Divine Canines is to enhance the lives of special needs children and adults through the promotion of the human-animal bond.

Divine Canines client Visit

Volunteers share of themselves and their dog companions to make a positive difference for people who would otherwise not be able to experience the relationship between pet and owner.

Divine Canines is a non-profit volunteer organization that recruits and trains teams of dogs and their owners, then organizes and facilitates regular, frequent visits to residents of special care facilities.

Our dedicated volunteers and pets provide services to a broad range of the population, including children, mental health patients and the public at large.

The purpose of the visits is to provide the relationship and companionship of special dogs to the residents and afford them the opportunity to experience the emotional bond, unconditional love and the physical and emotional benefits that come from connecting to and playing with dogs.

Divine Canines also provides public education opportunities to the community at large on topics such as pet safety and the promotion of reading.

The human-animal bond is used in these endeavors as an incentive and enticement to participate in the broader purpose.
